This is the mummy of Djedptahiufankh. He was the second prophet of Amun during the reign of Shoshenq I who ruled between 943–922 BC.
His mummy is notable for its excellent preservation and open, inlaid eyes. His skin has been embalmed to perfection. Smooth and shiny to the touch.
The hair is a rusty orange colour because of the oils and ointments that the Egyptians used to preserve it as best as possible - freezing it in time.
Examination of his mummy reveals no distinguishable cause of death but estimates put his demise at around the 11th year of Shoshenq’s reign.
His eternal gaze will never diminish.
