SLEEPING, QUEEN

A cloth is laid over the mummified face of Lady Tiye. Her mummy is 3,358 years old. Hard to believe when looking at her wonderfully preserved body.

She was the great royal wife of Amenhotep III, mother of Akhenaten and grandmother to the most famous pharaoh of all time, Tutankhamun.

This, in my opinion, makes her one of the most important women to have ever walked the earth.

It is thought that Queen Tiye had foreign links. A new way of thinking, so to speak.

Could this outside influence be what sowed the seed for the eventual Monotheism that blossomed with Akhenaten’s infamous reign? It’s possible.
